Shawn
Harris began his architectural education at Roger Williams University
in 1995. After three years, he took some time off and worked in the
Little Compton/ Westport area for a custom builder. Here he gained experience
in framing, custom cabinetry, and finish work, with a strong focus on
process. From 2001 through 2005, Shawn worked at Clearwater Architects
in Westport, Ma, a firm that focuses on technically accurate drawings
as well as sustainable and efficient designs. Shawn returned to Roger
Williams in 2001 and finished his thesis in 2003, which focused on the
re-interpretation of vernacular architecture in Maine. Soon after, he
began Adaptive Craft, Sixteen on Center’s ‘sister’ Design/Build Company
and completed jobs ranging from new homes to interior and exterior renovations
to new kitchens. In 2006, Shawn began working at VASCO, Inc. a local
construction and management company as a project manager/foreman, where
he honed his management and estimating skills. Shawn possesses a Construction
License in Rhode Island and an unrestricted Construction Supervisors
License in Massachusetts. He is currently pursuing LEED accreditation.
