12 HILLSIDE TERRACE

a fresh look

Completion of this project was carried out in multiple phases. Phase one was updating the rear porch, phase two was the rear deck and deck furniture, and phase three was the master suite and basement. The rear yard was rarely used, partly because the porch connecting it to the interior space was in disrepair. The porch received a complete makeover and the platform deck was constructed to take advantage of the afternoon sun while extending the living area outside. We custom designed the deck furniture to coordinate with the simple styling of the deck. On the interior, the master suite was outdated with its 1970's décor and dysfunctional floor plan. It was redesigned to include additional closet space, refinished flooring, and a new bath with custom shower enclosure made from 3-form eco-resin panels. The basement was a dark and cluttered space rarely used by the family. With a refinished ceiling highlighted by a pattern of wood battens, recessed lighting and a new paint job, it shines as a home office and place to entertain.
