NUNES
bigger better bungalow
One
of our earliest projects, this was an extensive exercise in framing.
George Nunes, senior designer at the architecture firm Vision 3 Architects
in Providence, RI, orchestrated the design and construction documents
while Sixteen On Center performed the construction. This was a challenging
and complicated site to build on. Having only a three foot laneway on
one side and an eight foot drive with a roll-off dumpster parked in
it on the opposite side, there was limited space to store and maneuver
the materials. The complicated framing was compounded by differing roof
pitches, large clear spans, and multiple sizes of laminated beams and
engineered columns; it was an exceptional skeletal structure for a building.
